Rather predictable result in Sosnowiec where eighth ranked Pogon RS (9-8) beat 11th ranked Zaglebie (6-11) 95-82 on Saturday. They outrebounded Zaglebie 42-28 including 30 on the defensive glass. Pogon RS looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was center Tomasz Stankala (202-91) who scored 31 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Mateusz Pawlik (180-92) chipped in 18 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Pogon RS players scored in double figures. Swingman Kamil Wojciak (193-85) produced a double-double by scoring 27 points, 6 rebounds and 13 assists and power forward Jakub Czyz (205-95) added 22 points and 13 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Pogon RS moved-up to sixth place in Group C, which they share with AZS PCz and Tarnowskie Gory. Loser Zaglebie keeps the eleventh position with 11 games lost. Pogon RS will face league's second-placed Polonia Bytom on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Zaglebie will play against the league's leader AZS AWF Mick. (#1) and hope to win that game.
