Very important is a road loss of second ranked Sidigas AV (11-5) against thirteenth ranked MIA-RO Cantu (6-10) on Saturday night. Visiting Sidigas AV was defeated by MIA-RO Cantu in Cantu 83-73. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Sidigas AV. It was a great shooting night for MIA-RO Cantu especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Davon Jefferson (204-86, college: USC) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds and the other American import Frank Gaines (191-90, college: PFW) who added 21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. At the losing side international point guard Ariel Filloy (189-87, agency: Interperformances) responded with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and American point guard Keifer Sykes (183-93, college: Green Bay) scored 19 points and 5 assists. Four Sidigas AV players scored in double figures. MIA-RO Cantu moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with VL Pesaro. Sidigas AV at the other side keeps the second position with five games lost. They share it with Umana VE. MIA-RO Cantu will play against higher ranked Dolomiti En. TR (#11) in Trento in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Sidigas AV will play at home against Vanoli Cremona (#4) having rather not much hope for a victory.
