No shocking result in a game in Fos-sur-Mer where fourth ranked Gravelines-Dunkerque (11-6) smashed 17th ranked Provence Basket (4-13) 88-62 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was American point guard Kendall Anthony (173-93, college: Richmond) who scored 27 points and 9 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Power forward Bangaly Fofana (213-89) chipped in 9 points and 11 rebounds. Gravelines-Dunkerque's coach Julien Mahe felt very confident that he used 10 players saving starting five for next games. American Ronald Lewis (193-84, college: Ohio St., agency: Pensack Sports) produced 21 points and 6 assists and power forward Pierre Pelos (205-92) added 14 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Gravelines-Dunkerque. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Nanterre and Pau-Lacq-Orthez. Provence Basket lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the seventeenth position with 13 games lost. Gravelines-Dunkerque will face Monaco (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Provence Basket will play against JL Bourg (#9) and hope to win that game.
