Regular Season Round 15: Mark - Telge 65-83
Date: January 20, 2019
Rather predictable result in Kinna where seventh ranked Telge (6-6) defeated 10th ranked Mark (1-9) 83-65. It looked good early as Mark took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Telge had a 24-15 second period charge getting the lead and Mark was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 65-83. It was a good game for American guard Deanna Weaver (180-92, college: Boise St.) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 15 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. International guard Klara Lundquist (173-99) contributed with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Canadian guard Paloma Anderson (155, college: Acadia) answered with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Chase Coley (190, college: Iowa) added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Mark. Four Mark players scored in double figures. Mark's coach Joey Cafferky rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Telge maintains seventh place with 6-6 record. Mark at the other side keeps the tenth position with nine games lost. Telge's next round opponent will be higher ranked IK Eos (#6) in Lund and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
