Regular Season Round 27: Aisin AW - Toyoda Gosei 76-86

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Aichi: Toyoda Gosei (#3) and Aisin AW (#4). Aisin AW was defeated at home 76-86 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. 24 personal fouls committed by Aisin AW helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for American-Irish Brian Voelkel (196-92, college: Vermont) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 17 rebounds. American Patrick Simon (203-92, college: Seattle Pacific) helped adding 25 points and 11 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists and point guard Yuki Ishihara (180-91) scored 20 points. Five Toyoda Gosei and four Aisin AW players scored in double figures. Toyoda Gosei maintains third place with 15-5 record having four points less than leader Tokyo Excel. Aisin AW at the other side keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. Toyoda Gosei are looking forward to face Tokyo Cinq R. (#6) at home in the next round. Aisin AW will play against the league's leader Tokyo Excel. and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
