Regular Season Round 27: Tokyo Cinq R. - Koshigaya A. 65-82

Another exciting game was again a derby between two teams from Tokyo: Koshigaya A. (#2) and Tokyo Cinq R. (#5). Tokyo Cinq R. was crushed at home by 17 points 65-82 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Koshigaya A. dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Tokyo Cinq R.'s 22. Koshigaya A. had a 29-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American Josh Peppers (201-85, college: Cent.Florida) who led the winners and scored 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import Luke Evans (203-91, college: Cal.Baptist) accounted for 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Four Koshigaya A. players scored in double figures. American center Joe Wolfinger (216-85, college: Citadel) came up with 14 points and 8 rebounds and Kodai Takahashi (180-91) added 14 points and 5 assists respectively for Tokyo Cinq R. in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Koshigaya A. (16-4) have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain second place having just three points less than leader Tokyo Excel. Tokyo Cinq R. at the other side keeps the fifth position with ten games lost. They share it with Saitama Bron.. Koshigaya A.'s supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tokyo to the arena Tokyo Big Blue.
