Regular Season Round 9: Cactus Tbilisi - BC Titebi 69-84

Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tbilisi: BC Titebi (#7) and Cactus Tbilisi (#8). Cactus Tbilisi was defeated at home 69-84 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 84-69. BC Titebi had a 39-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was international power forward Ilia Londaridze (205-89) who scored 21 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Cape Verdean-Portuguese forward Joel Almeida (195-85, college: Brockport St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds. BC Titebi's coach Davit Ustiashvili used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. BC Titebi's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tbilisi Dinamo Tbilisi.
