Regular Season Round 33: Ryukyu GK - Shiga L-Stars 55-65

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Ryukyu GK (23-10) in Okinawa on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by sixth ranked Shiga L-Stars (7-26) 65-55. It was a good game for Nigerian-American power forward Gani Lawal (206-88, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 16 rebounds. American forward Marqus Blakely (201-88, college: Vermont) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. American forward Jeff Ayres (206-87, college: Arizona St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds and international guard Narito Namizato (172-89) added 8 points and 11 assists in the effort for Ryukyu GK. Ryukyu GK's coach Norio Sassa rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Shiga L-Stars maintains sixth place with 7-26 record. Ryukyu GK at the other side still keeps top position with ten games lost. They share it with Niigata Albirex. Shiga L-Stars will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ryukyu GK will play on the road against Aishin Sea Horses in Kariya and is hoping to win this game.
