Regular Season Round 19: GKS Tychy - Slask Wroclaw 97-84

1Liga round 19 caused change at the leadership position. Fourth defeat of league's leader Slask (14-4) against sixth ranked GKS Tychy (11-8) 97-84 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Slask. GKS Tychy dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Slask's 32. 25 personal fouls committed by Slask helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Piotr Wieloch (182-94) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Guard Damian Szymczak (186-95) contributed with 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Norbert Kulon (187-92) answered with 17 points and 5 assists and power forward Aleksander Dziewa (205-97, agency: Octagon Europe) added 15 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Slask. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. GKS Tychy moved-up to fifth place, which they share with WKK Wroclaw. Slask at the other side dropped to the second position with four games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Sokol Lancut. Slask will play next round against SKK Siedlce trying to make it back to the top of the standings. GKS Tychy will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Polonia Leszno on the road.
