Regular Season Round 15: Njardvik - Tindastoll 75-76

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Njardvik (13-2) at the home court on Friday night. Hosts were edged by second ranked Tindastoll (12-3) 76-75. It ended at the same time the ten-game winning streak of Njardvik. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-17. But Njardvik won second period 19-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for American power forward Urald King (198-90, college: SE Oklahoma) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. International forward Danero Thomas (200-86, college: Murray St.) helped adding 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was Croatian forward Mario Matasovic (203-93, college: Sacred Heart) with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds and international point guard Elvar Fridriksson (180-94, college: Barry, agency: Inception Sports) scored 20 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tindastoll maintains second place with 12-3 record behind leader Njardvik. Njardvik at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. Tindastoll are looking forward to face KR (#4) in Reykjavik in the next round. Njardvik will play on the road against Haukar in Hafnarfjordur and is hoping to win this game.
