Regular Season Round 14: Snaefell - Sindri 89-79

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 7th ranked Sindri (1-14) lost to eighth ranked Snaefell (1-13) in Stykkisholmur 79-89 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 51-36 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Snaefell made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. Lithuanian point guard Dominykas Zupkauskas (183-96) orchestrated the victory by scoring 36 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Isak Baldursson contributed with 23 points and 4 assists for the winners. Slovenian point guard Matic Macek (188-94) replied with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Arni Thorvardarson added 13 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Sindri. Four Snaefell and five Sindri players scored in double figures. Snaefell left bottom position moving up to seventh place. It was Sindri's fourth loss in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the bottom position with 14 games lost. Snaefell will face higher ranked Vestri (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Sindri will play against Hottur (#3) and hope to win that game.
