Another exciting game was again a derby between two teams from Nassau: Stingers (#2) and Rockets (#4). Rockets were crushed at home by 16 points 77-93 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Stingers dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Rockets' 34. Stingers forced 22 Rockets turnovers and outrebounded them 61-41 including a 26-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Devon Ferguson orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Salathiel Dean contributed with 15 points for the winners. Five Stingers players scored in double figures. The former international Quentin Demeritte (196-82, college: Five Towns) answered with 26 points and Barry Carter added 11 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Rockets. Stingers maintains second place with 9-2 record having just two point less than leader Giants. Rockets at the other side keep the fourth position with four games lost. Stingers' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Nassau Pirates.
