Regular Season Round 15: Koroivos - Psychiko 64-66

A very interesting game took place in Koroivos. It ended with only two-point home defeat of 12th ranked Koroivos (6-9) to ninth ranked Psychiko (8-7) 66-64 on Saturday evening. It was an exceptional evening for forward Nikolaos Papanikolaou (209-85) who led the winners and scored 18 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Estonian Martin Paasoja (191-93) accounted for 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Psychiko's coach Giorgos Remendelas allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Naturalized German forward Dimitris Cheilaris (206-90) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and guard Vassilis Lampropoulos (196-90) added 15 points respectively for Koroivos in the defeat. Psychiko moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Koroivos at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with nine games lost. Psychiko's next round opponent will be league's leader Iraklis in Thessaloniki and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Koroivos will play at home against Karditsas (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
