There was no surprise in Bydgoszcz where 15th ranked Kotwica (6-14) was outplayed by third ranked Enea Astoria (14-6) 95-66. Enea Astoria dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Kotwica's 30. They outrebounded Kotwica 44-25 including a 32-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Enea Astoria players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. The winners were led by point guard Marcin Nowakowski (184-89) who scored that evening 21 points and 9 assists and center Lukasz Frackiewicz (205-96) supported him with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Enea Astoria players scored in double figures. Even 17 points and 6 rebounds by power forward Lukasz Bodych (201-90) did not help to save the game for Kotwica. Swingman Szymon Ryzek (190-97) added 13 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Kotwica's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Enea Astoria maintains third position with 14-6 record behind leader Slask Wroclaw. Kotwica at the other side dropped to the fourteenth place with 14 games lost. They share the position with AZS AGH KR. Enea Astoria will play against Pogon Prudnik (#9) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Kotwica will play against WKK Wroclaw (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
