Regular Season Round 34: Kumamoto V. - Shinshu BW 94-91

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Shinshu BW (27-7) on the court of first ranked Kumamoto V. on Saturday night. Visitors were edged by Kumamoto V. 94-91. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Kumamoto V. made 28-of-37 free shots (75.7 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Shinshu BW helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) had a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and South African center Tshilidzi Nephawe (208-89, college: N.Mexico St.) chipped in 21 points and 17 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American center Wayne Marshall (211-86, college: Temple) responded with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds and his fellow American import swingman Richard Roby (198-85) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks. Four Kumamoto V. and five Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. Kumamoto V. have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 25-9 record which they share with defeated Shinshu BW. Shinshu BW at the other side still keeps top place with seven games lost. Kumamoto V. are again looking forward to face league's leader Shinshu BW in Nagano in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Shinshu BW will have a break next round.
