Regular Season Round 15: Almeria - Leganes 67-70

The most shocking disappointment of round 15 in the LF2 was only three-point a home defeat of 4th placed Almeria (9-6) to fifth ranked Leganes (10-5) 70-67. It was a great evening for center Daira Varas (193-89) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Celia Menendez (186-90, agency: ProDep Management) helped adding 18 points and 5 rebounds. Four Leganes players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was point guard Isabel Latorre (170-96) with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Alicia Gonzalez (187-86) scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. Leganes moved-up to third place in Group B. Almeria lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. They share it with Picken Claret. Leganes are looking forward to face Picken Claret (#4) in Valencia in the next round. Almeria will play on the road against Alcobendas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
