Regular Season Round 19: Aquimisa LZ - Tormes 86-76

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Tormes (5-14) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Zamorano (12-7) 86-76 on Saturday. Tormes was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for French point guard Sango Niang (183-93, college: Simon Fraser) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points. American-Italian point guard Anthony Libroia (180-94, college: Adelphi) helped adding 19 points. At the losing side American guard Casey Jones (196-93, college: Chattanooga) responded with 13 points and guard Andrew Ramirez (188-97, college: Hartford) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tormes' coach Jandro Zubillaga rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Zamorano moved-up to third place in Silver. Newly promoted Tormes keeps the twelfth position with 14 games lost. Zamorano will face Cocinas.com (#7) in Logrono in the next round. Tormes will play on the road against the league's leader Navarra (#1) in Pamplona and hope to win that game.
