Regular Season Round 18: PBB - Carbajosa 66-70

There was a surprise result in Porrino where twelfth ranked Carbajosa (6-8) won against higher ranked PBB (7-7) 70-66 on Saturday. They outrebounded PBB 57-34 including a 35-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American guard Chris Kendrix (196-95, college: Minn.St.-Mankato, agency: Duran International) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. American-French forward Justin Vallejo (198-95, college: Piedmont) chipped in 9 points and 15 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Lucas Vaquero (185-89) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and Victor Alonso (196-94) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Four PBB players scored in double figures. PBB's coach Jenaro Alonso tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Carbajosa moved-up to ninth place in Group A-B, which they share with Betanzos and Un.Oviedo. PBB lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost. Carbajosa will face league's leader Culleredo at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
