Another exciting game was also this time a derby match between teams from Nassau: Giants (#2) and Pirates (#7). Pirates were crushed at home by 26 points 64-90 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Giants held Pirates to an opponent 24.1 percent shooting from the field compared to 45.3 percent accuracy of the winners. Giants players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Pirates' players. It was an exceptional evening for the former international Michael Bain (185-85) who led the winners and scored 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). The former international guard DShon Taylor (196-93, college: Norfolk St.) accounted for 13 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Giants' coach felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Christorr Stuart (188) came up with 21 points and 5 rebounds and guard Kronoff Dean (173) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Pirates in the defeat. Giants (9-0) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion (9-0) keeps a position of league leader. Pirates at the other side dropped to the sixth place with seven games lost. Giants' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Nassau Shockers.
