Regular Season Round 34: SeaHorses - Ryukyu GK 73-77

Rather predictable result in Kariya where first ranked Ryukyu GK (24-10) defeated 4th ranked Aishin Sea Horses (17-17) 77-73 on Saturday. Ryukyu GK looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. International guard Narito Namizato (172-89) scored 22 points and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Jeff Ayres (206-87, college: Arizona St.) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American forward Kennedy Meeks (208-95, college: N.Carolina) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and his fellow American import center Isaac Butts (208-89, college: Appalachian St.) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Aishin Sea Horses' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Ryukyu GK maintains first position with 24-10 record, which they share with Niigata Albirex. Loser Aishin Sea Horses keep the fourth place with 17 games lost. Ryukyu GK will have a break next round. Aishin Sea Horses will play again at home against the league's leader Ryukyu GK (#1) and hope to win that game.
