Regular Season Round 18: Caceres - Benahavis 82-75

There was an upset when second-best Benahavis (11-4) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Caceres (3-11) 82-75 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was guard Alejandro Jorda (193-95, college: Cuesta JC) who scored 20 points. Senegalese forward Vieux Kasse (198-0) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Caceres' coach Roberto Blanco used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Javier Meras (194-82) who recorded 29 points and 6 rebounds and Mali-American forward Mamadou Diakite (196-93, college: Immaculata) added 18 points and 15 rebounds respectively. Newly promoted Caceres maintains eighth position in Group D-B with 3-11 record. Loser Benahavis keeps the second place with four games lost. Caceres will face higher ranked Huelva (#6) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Benahavis will play against Real Betis II (#9) in Sevilla and hope to win that game.
