Regular Season Round 11: HoNsU - MuKi 86-90

Another exciting game was again a derby between two teams from Helsinki: MuKi (#2) and HoNsU (#7). HoNsU was defeated at home 86-90 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 26-13. But HoNsU won second period 21-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was an exceptional evening for Elmo Erakangas (199-2) who led the winners and scored 25 points. Tom Niiranen (192-0) accounted for 15 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winning side. Four MuKi players scored in double figures. Guard Tiitus Kuukkanen (193-0) came up with a triple-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 12 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals and swingman Wille Nordell (191-2) added 19 points and 6 rebounds respectively for HoNsU in the defeat. HoNsU's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. MuKi (9-1) have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain second place having 2 victories less than leader Rocks. HoNsU at the other side keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. MuKi will play against KTP (#4) in Kotka in the next round. HoNsU's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Helsinki to the arena Go Time.
