Regular Season Round 35: Akita NH - Yokohama BC 71-77

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when sixth ranked Yokohama BC (9-26) defeated on the road 5th ranked Akita Happinets (13-22) 77-71 on Sunday. Akita Happinets were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Takuya Kawamura (193-86) who scored 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). British center Prince Ibeh (208-94, college: Texas) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Bahamas forward Dwight Coleby (206-94, college: W.Kentucky) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and Bahamas power forward Kadeem Coleby (206-89, college: Wichita St.) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Akita Happinets' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Yokohama BC moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Fukuoka Rizing. Newly promoted Akita Happinets keep the fifth position with 22 games lost. Yokohama BC will face higher ranked Aishin Sea Horses (#3) in Kariya in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Akita Happinets will play at home against the league's second-placed Tochigi Brex and hope to win that game.
