Bottom-ranked Uppsala (0-12) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 79-73 loss to ninth ranked Visby Ladies (3-9) in Uppsala on Sunday evening. They outrebounded Uppsala 43-28 including 16 on the offensive glass. Visby Ladies looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Branndais Agee (180-94, college: Michigan St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import guard Zakiya Saunders (175-95, college: Cent.Florida) who added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists during the contest. At the losing side American forward Shereen Sutherland (188-94, college: Cal-Irvine) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and the former international guard Agnes Nordstrom (180-88) scored 18 points and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Visby Ladies have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Wetterbygden. Uppsala at the other side still closes the standings with 12 games lost. Visby Ladies will meet Mark (#10) in the next round. Uppsala will play against Norrkoping Dolphins and hopes to get finally their first victory.
