Top ranked Ryukyu GK (24-11) recorded its eleventh loss in Kariya on Sunday night. Visitors were edged by fourth ranked Aishin Sea Horses (18-17) 76-74. Aishin Sea Horses made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Kennedy Meeks (208-95, college: N.Carolina) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 19 rebounds and 4 blocks. The former international swingman Kosuke Kanamaru (193-89) chipped in 24 points and 4 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Four Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. American forward Kevin Jones (206-89, college: W.Virginia) produced a double-double by scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Jeff Ayres (206-87, college: Arizona St.) added 22 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the guests. Aishin Sea Horses moved-up to third place, which they share with Kyoto Hannar. and Toyama Grouses. Ryukyu GK at the other side still keeps top position with 11 games lost. Aishin Sea Horses is looking forward to face Yokohama BC (#6) on the road in the next round. Ryukyu GK will play against Kyoto Hannar. (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
