Regular Season Round 20: Caceres - Castello 81-86
Date: January 27, 2019
Rather predictable result when fourteenth ranked Castello (8-12) won against on the road 16th ranked Caceres Basket (6-15) 86-81 on Sunday. Castello made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. The winners were led by naturalized Dominican power forward Juan-Jose Garcia (201-89, agency: Duran International) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and Serbian Brano Djukanovic (194-95) supported him with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Castello players scored in double figures. Even 20 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) by American forward Cole Huff (203-94, college: Creighton, agency: Slash Sports) did not help to save the game for Caceres Basket. Center Victor Serrano (211-89) added 10 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Castello have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Real Canoe. Loser Caceres Basket dropped to the seventeenth position with 15 games lost. Castello will meet at home higher ranked Palencia Baloncesto (#10) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Caceres Basket will play against Lleida Basquet (#11) and hope to secure a win.
