Bottom-ranked Tokyo Big Blue (0-22) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 22th consecutive match to second ranked Koshigaya A. (18-4) 113-77 on Sunday evening. Koshigaya A. dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Tokyo Big Blue's 48. Koshigaya A. had a 34-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Tokyo Big Blue's players. 27 personal fouls committed by Tokyo Big Blue helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American Kyle Richardson (201-91, college: Portland St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import Josh Peppers (201-85, college: Cent.Florida) chipped in 13 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. American guard Andre Murray (188-87, college: Portland St.) responded with 22 points and forward Bryan Simpson (197-84) scored 8 points and 11 rebounds. Five Koshigaya A. and four Tokyo Big Blue players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Koshigaya A. have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain second place with 18-4 record having just three points less than leader Tokyo Excel. Tokyo Big Blue at the other side still closes the standings. Koshigaya A. are looking forward to face Toyoda Gosei (#3) in Aichi in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Tokyo Big Blue will play on the road against Iwate Big Bulls (#9) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
