There was no surprise in Tokyo where 6th ranked Shiga L-Stars (7-28) were defeated by fourth ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (16-19) 71-65 on Sunday. Hitachi Sunrockers made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Canadian center Robert Sacre (213-89, college: Gonzaga) who scored 21 points and 9 rebounds. American Ryan Kelly (211-91, college: Duke) chipped in 18 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Nigerian-American power forward Gani Lawal (206-88, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Octagon Europe) produced a double-double by scoring 25 points and 20 rebounds and American forward Marqus Blakely (201-88, college: Vermont) added 13 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Hitachi Sunrockers maintains fourth place with 16-19 record. Loser Shiga L-Stars keep the sixth position with 28 games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers will face league's leader Chiba Jets on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
