Regular Season Round 18: Dijon - ASVEL 74-72

Fourteenth-ranked ASVEL (5-12) gave a tough game to third ranked Dijon (15-3) on Sunday. Dijon managed to secure only two-point victory 74-72. However their fans expected much easier game. Dijon forced 25 ASVEL turnovers. Strangely ASVEL outrebounded Dijon 38-26 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was guard Dimitri Radnic (194-99) who scored 18 points, 6 assists and 7 steals. Guard Louis Weber (186-98) chipped in 16 points. Dijon's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was Senegalese center Khadim Sow (210-99) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and Senegalese center Babacar Fam (204-0) added 16 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Four ASVEL players scored in double figures. Dijon have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Bourg. ASVEL lost seventh consecutive game. They dropped to the fifteenth position with 12 games lost. Dijon will meet Pau-Lacq-Orthez (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. ASVEL will play against Levallois (#17) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
