No shocking result in a game when third ranked Estela (12-7) won against on the road 10th ranked Baskonia (7-12) 82-68 on Sunday. Estela made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Baskonia turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for Chadian center Placide Nakidjim (205-94) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points and 8 rebounds. American guard Lamonte Thomas (187-90, college: J.and Wales, RI) helped adding 15 points, 7 assists and 4 steals. Five Estela players scored in double figures. At the losing side swingman Miguel Gonzalez (201-99) responded with 15 points and 4 assists and Latvian Arturs Kurucs (192-0) scored 18 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Estela moved-up to second place in Silver. Loser Baskonia keeps the tenth position with 12 games lost. Estela will face Marin (#6) at home in the next round. Baskonia will play against Zornotza (#4) in Amorebieta-Echano and hope to win that game.
