Regular Season Round 13: Jazine - Djakovo 98-86

The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Jazine as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Borik Puntamika) loss. Jazine defeated 6th ranked Djakovo in Zadar 98-86. The game was mostly controlled by Jazine. Djakovo was better in fourth quarter 28-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Jazine dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Djakovo's 22. Jazine forced 21 Djakovo turnovers. American swingman Preston Bungei (198-95, college: Norfolk St.) nailed a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds for the winning side and point guard Josip Gulam (188-95) accounted for 22 points, 6 assists and 5 steals. Five Jazine players scored in double figures. Forward Matej Karlovic (200-89) came up with 38 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Antun Hrkac (196-94) added 30 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Djakovo in the defeat. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Sonik Puntamika. Newly promoted Djakovo keeps the sixth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Pula 1981 and Zaprude. Djakovo will play next round against Bulldogs trying to get back on the winning streak. Jazine will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked Kvarner at Rijeka.
