Top ranked Tarragona (12-3) recorded its third loss on the court of ninth ranked Salou on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Salou 89-79. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Tarragona. Strangely Tarragona outrebounded Salou 42-28 including 31 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American forward CJ Barksdale (203-92, college: Virginia Tech) who scored 17 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Gerard Santiago (185-92) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. Four Salou players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was center Ferran Torres (201-88) who recorded 21 points and 9 rebounds and forward Jaume Zanca (195-97) added 17 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Tarragona's coach Bernardo Alvarez rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Salou (8-7) moved-up to seventh place in Group C-A, which they share with Boet and Olivar. Tarragona at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still keeps top position with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
