Regular Season Round 16: Ura Basket II - HyPo 75-86

No shocking result in a game in Kaarina where seventh ranked HyPo (8-7) defeated 9th ranked Ura Basket II (5-10) 86-75 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by HyPo. Ura Basket II was better in third quarter 20-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Power forward Toni Honka (193-84) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American guard Eric Richardson (188, college: Ave Maria) chipped in 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Five HyPo players scored in double figures. Guard Roope Kyyhkynen (185-99) produced 17 points and forward Tatu Savonvirta (197-95) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Ura Basket II's coach Jukka Valpola gave the chance to play for ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. HyPo maintains seventh position in Division with 8-7 record. Newly promoted Ura Basket II keeps the ninth place with ten games lost. HyPo will face higher ranked Raholan Pyrkiva (#3) in Tampere in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Ura Basket II will play at home against PuHu Juniorit (#12) and hope to win that game.
