Very expected game in Logrono where 11th ranked Gijon (6-13) was defeated by seventh ranked Cocinas.com (10-9) 88-84 on Sunday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Cocinas.com made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for center Arnau Parrado (200-0) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Point guard Carlos Noguerol (186-93) helped adding 16 points and 5 assists (made all of his eight free throws). Cocinas.com's coach Jenaro Diaz allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side Canadian forward Shane Osayande (198-93, college: Saskatchewan, agency: Interperformances) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and American power forward Robert Swift (213-85) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Four Cocinas.com and five Gijon players scored in double figures. Cocinas.com maintains seventh place in Silver with 10-9 record. Newly promoted Gijon keeps the eleventh position with 13 games lost. Cocinas.com will face higher ranked Zamorano (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gijon will play against Plasencia (#8) and hope to win that game.
