Regular Season Round 15: Olympiacos - Kymis 92-69
Date: January 27, 2019
Second ranked Olympiacos (14-1) crushed at home 11th ranked Kymis (3-12) by 23 points 92-69, which is the biggest margin this round on Sunday night. The game without a history. Olympiacos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a quality performance of American power forward Zach LeDay (201-94, college: Virginia Tech) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 7 rebounds. The former international guard Vassilis Spanoulis (193-82, agency: BeoBasket) helped adding 16 points and 4 assists. Five Olympiacos players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American point guard JeQuan Lewis (185-94, college: VCU) with 18 points and the other American import power forward DeVaughn Washington (203-89, college: Ohio, agency: Mansfield and Associates) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Olympiacos. They maintain second place with 14-1 record having just one point less than leader Panathinaikos. Loser Kymis keeps the eleventh position with 12 games lost. Olympiacos will face Ifestos (#8) in Keratsiniou in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Kymis will play at home against Kolossos HH and hope to win that game.
