We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 5th ranked Fukuoka Rizing (9-27) lost on the road to sixth ranked Shiga L-Stars (8-28) 83-72 on Wednesday. It was a good game for Nigerian-American power forward Gani Lawal (206-88, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds. American forward Marqus Blakely (201-88, college: Vermont) contributed with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. British forward Benjamin Lawson (216-95, college: W.Kentucky) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and American Eric Jacobsen (208-94, college: Arizona St.) added 17 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Fukuoka Rizing. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Shiga L-Stars maintains sixth position with 8-28 record, which they share with Hokkaido L. Fukuoka Rizing lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifth place with 27 games lost. Shiga L-Stars will face Hokkaido L. (#6) in Saporro in the next round. Fukuoka Rizing will play at home against Toyota Alvark and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
