Regular Season Round 13: Tresnjevka - Banovici 63-67

Bottom-ranked Croatian Tresnjevka (0-10) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 67-63 loss to seventh ranked Bosnian Banovici (2-8) in Zagreb on Wednesday evening. The guests trailed by 11 points after three quarters before their 21-6 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Banovici dominated on the defensive end, holding Tresnjevka to just 6 points in fourth quarter. They also forced 25 Tresnjevka turnovers. Strangely Tresnjevka outrebounded Banovici 44-28 including a 35-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Serbian guard Maja Scekic (169-87) stepped up and scored 18 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals for the winners and Serbian forward Latinka Dusanic (180-90) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side point guard Nika Muhl (178-1) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists and center Josipa Pavic (189-99) scored 8 points and 14 rebounds. Defending Bosnian champion maintains seventh place with 2-8 record. Loser Tresnjevka still closes the standings with ten games lost. Banovici will meet at home higher ranked Celje (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tresnjevka will play against the league's leader Beroe having rather not much hope for a victory.
