An interesting game for Toshiba Thunders (22-14) which hosted in Kanagawa top-ranked Niigata Albirex (25-11). Second ranked Toshiba Thunders managed to get a 5-point victory 71-66. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Niigata Albirex. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The best player for the winners was international power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. American power forward Vernon Macklin (208-86, college: Florida) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Toshiba Thunders' coach Takuya Kita allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American Davante Gardner (203-91, college: Marquette) who recorded a double-double by scoring 30 points and 13 rebounds and his fellow American import power forward Lamont Hamilton (208-84, college: St.John's) added 14 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Toshiba Thunders maintains second position with 22-14 record having nine points less than leader Ryukyu GK. Niigata Albirex at the other side still keeps top place with 11 games lost.
