An interesting game for KR (13-5) which hosted in Reykjavik 3rd ranked Snaefell (11-7). Second ranked KR had an easy win 90-54. The game without a history. KR led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They held Snaefell to an opponent 23.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 47.8 percent accuracy of the winners. KR players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. American guard Kiana Johnson (171-93, college: Virginia Union) scored 28 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists and 7 steals to lead the charge for the winners and Irish forward Orla O'Reilly (185-90) chipped in 15 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American swingman Kristen McCarthy (180-90, college: Temple, agency: Basket Promotion Agency) with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international guard Gunnhildur Gunnarsdottir (176-90) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted KR maintains second position with 13-5 record behind leader Keflavik. Snaefell lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth place with seven games lost. KR will play against bottom-ranked Breidablik (#8) in Kopavogur in the next round where they are favorite. Snaefell will play at home against Skallagrimur (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
