There was a minor upset when 8th ranked Nardo (8-10) lost on the road to eleventh ranked Corato (8-10) 84-80 on Thursday. Corato looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Nardo was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for naturalized Latvian forward Gints Antrops (201-82, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 5 rebounds. Point guard Mauro Stella (190-84, agency: Players Group) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 6 rebounds and 13 assists for the winners. Four Corato players scored in double figures. The former international point guard Gionata Zampolli (189-85) answered with 22 points (made all of his seven free throws) and forward Mathias Drigo (203-89, agency: Interperformances) added 20 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Nardo. Corato moved-up to ninth place in B. Corato will face Campli (#15) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Nardo will play against Giulianova (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
