Regular Season Round 37: Nagoya DD - Toyama Grouses 80-82

A very interesting game took place in Nagoya. It ended with only two-point home defeat of much higher ranked Diamond Dolphins (21-17) to fourth ranked Toyama Grouses (19-19) 82-80 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Diamond Dolphins. They outrebounded Diamond Dolphins 39-28 including 30 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Leo Lyons (206-87, college: Missouri) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import center Joshua Smith (208-92, college: Georgetown) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Toyama Grouses players scored in double figures. The former international guard Shuto Ando (189-94) answered with 22 points and 7 assists and American Markeith Cummings (198-88, college: Kennesaw St.) added 22 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Diamond Dolphins. Diamond Dolphins' coach tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Toyama Grouses maintains fourth place with 19-19 record. Diamond Dolphins at the other side keep the second position with 17 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
