Regular Season Round 16: Ippokratis - Ethnikos 85-64

Very predictable result when tenth ranked Ippokratis (9-7) rolled over at home bottom-ranked Ethnikos (1-15) 85-64 on Saturday. Ippokratis dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Ethnikos' 38. Ippokratis forced 21 Ethnikos turnovers. Quite impressive performance for forward Antonis Asimakopoulos (203-76) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 7 rebounds. Center Kostas Charissis (212-79, college: USC) contributed with 9 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Anastasios Kokorogiannis (203-92) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and Serbian forward Nikola Stanojevic (203-90) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Ethnikos. Four Ethnikos players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ippokratis moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Ethnikos lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Ippokratis will face Psychiko (#9) in Athens in the next round where they are favorite. Ethnikos will play at home against Diagoras D. (#4) and hope to win that game.
