There was no surprise when 7th ranked Brest (6-12) was crushed on the road by third ranked Grodno-93 (16-2) 110-65 on Saturday. The game without a history. Grodno-93 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Brest's 38. Grodno-93 forced 26 Brest turnovers and outrebounded them 54-25 including a 24-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 36 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Brest's players. Center Pavel Karasevich (201-89) stepped up and scored 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and the former international forward Andrey Navoychik (200-91) chipped in 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Grodno-93 players scored in double figures. Coach Andrei Vasileuka's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Anton Shchurko (188-97) responded with 25 points and 4 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and center Dmitriy Shved (196-98) scored 8 points and 7 rebounds. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Grodno-93. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with COR-Borisfen and Tsmoki-Minsk. Loser Brest keeps the seventh place with 12 games lost.
