Everything went according to plan in Amorebieta-Echano where fourth ranked Zornotza (12-8) edged 10th ranked Baskonia (7-13) 98-95 on Saturday. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Zornotza made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Canadian-Haitian forward Kevin Bercy (201-94, college: St.Francis X.) who had a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds. American guard Roderick Bobbitt (190-93, college: Hawaii) chipped in 14 points and 5 assists. Estonian swingman Sander Raieste (200-99) produced 29 points and 5 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) and Bahamas forward Tavario Miller (203-94, college: Texas A&M) added 19 points and 10 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively for the guests. Five Zornotza and four Baskonia players scored in double figures. Zornotza moved-up to third place in Silver. Loser Baskonia dropped to the eleventh position with 13 games lost. Zornotza will face Marin (#6) on the road in the next round. Baskonia will play against Gijon (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
