Regular Season Round 19: Goierri - Gallofa 83-86

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Goierri (4-11) was edged at home by fifth ranked Gallofa (10-5) 86-83 on Saturday. It was a very good performance for guard David Garcia (192-80) who helped to win the game recording 24 points. American power forward Daniel Westbrook (208-95, college: Barton, NC) contributed with 17 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. Gallofa's coach Joaquin Romano used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Aitor De-Miguel (186-83) answered with 20 points and 4 assists and guard Inaki Antzizar (183-92) added 17 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Goierri. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gallofa maintains fifth place in Group A-A with 10-5 record, which they share with Mondragon. Goierri lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 11 games lost. Gallofa will face league's second-placed Ardoi in Zizur Mayor in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Goierri will play on the road against the league's leader Univ.Burgos (#1) and hope to win that game.
