Regular Season Round 36: Tokyo HT - Shimane SM 61-92
Date: February 2, 2019
Rather expected game when 6th ranked Tokyo HT (6-30) was smashed at home by third ranked Shimane Magic (26-10) 92-61 on Saturday. Shimane Magic dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Tokyo HT's 36. They outrebounded Tokyo HT 47-26 including a 21-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Shimane Magic looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for Hungarian Rosco Allen (208-93, college: Stanford, agency: Pensack Sports) who led his team to a victory with 28 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Venezuelan center Gregory Echenique (206-90, college: Creighton, agency: Pensack Sports) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 17 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. Guard Hiroya Ogane (180-89) replied with 23 points and American power forward Alex Jones (206-87, college: Seattle) added 11 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Tokyo HT. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Shimane Magic have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Kumamoto V. Newly promoted Tokyo HT keeps the sixth place with 30 games lost. Shimane Magic will have a break next round. Tokyo HT will play again at home against the league's second-placed Shimane Magic (#2) and hope to win that game.
