No shocking result in a game in Vitebsk where fifth ranked Rubon (10-8) smashed 9th ranked GOCOR-Sozh (2-15) 94-49 on Saturday. The game without a history. Rubon led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding GOCOR-Sozh to just 5 points in third quarter and to 12 points in second half. Rubon dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to GOCOR-Sozh's 24. Rubon forced 20 GOCOR-Sozh turnovers and outrebounded them 53-32 including a 39-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by GOCOR-Sozh's players. Egro Potupchik (191-94) stepped up and scored 18 points and 5 assists for the winners and Russian forward Marsel Ovsepyan (202-90) chipped in 11 points and 9 rebounds. Four Rubon players scored in double figures. Rubon's coach Ruslan Baidakov felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Timofey Verevkin (185-93) responded with 24 points and forward Yegor Dudov (190-98) scored 6 points and 12 rebounds. The victory was the third consecutive win for Rubon. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Tsmoki II. GOCOR-Sozh lost their eighth game in a row. They dropped to the eighth position with 15 games lost. They share it with RCOP Tsmoki.
