There was no surprise when 9th ranked Maccabi Ashdod (5-11) was defeated on the road by third ranked Hapoel Jerusalem (12-5) 104-94. The game was mostly controlled by Hapoel Jerusalem. Maccabi Ashdod was better in third quarter 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hapoel Jerusalem shot 61.2 percent from the field. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 33 assists. American point guard JCovan Brown (188-90, college: Texas) nailed 25 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side and Dominican-American James Feldeine (193-88, college: Quinnipiac) accounted for 21 points and 7 assists. Kosovan center Lis Shoshi (211-94, college: UALR) came up with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 10 rebounds and American-Mexican point guard Paul Stoll (180-85) added 16 points and 10 assists respectively for Maccabi Ashdod in the defeat. Four Maccabi Ashdod players scored in double figures. Hapoel Jerusalem maintains third place with 12-5 record behind leader Holon. Maccabi Ashdod at the other side dropped to the tenth position with 11 games lost. Hapoel Jerusalem's next round opponent will be Hapoel Eilat (#4) on the road. Maccabi Ashdod will play against Ironi Nes-Ziona (#6) and hope to win that game.
