Regular Season Round 18: Pistoia - San Salvatore 88-63

We should mention about the upset which took place in Pistoia, where higher ranked San Salvatore (11-8) was outleveled in a road game by eleventh ranked Pistoia (6-13) 88-63 on Saturday. Pistoia made 17-of-18 free shots (94.4 percent) during the game. Pistoia outrebounded San Salvatore 38-25 including 32 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was power forward Serena Bona (181-89, agency: SPORTlab Agency) who scored 25 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Bosnian power forward Natasa Tomasovic (185-93) chipped in 20 points and 8 rebounds. Pistoia's coach Stefano Tommei felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Croatian forward Karmen Cicic (183-94) who recorded 17 points and 8 rebounds and forward Delia Gagliano (180-97) added 18 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Pistoia maintains eleventh position in A2 with 6-13 record. Loser San Salvatore keeps the seventh place with eight games lost. Pistoia will face league's second-placed Spezzina in La Spezia in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
