No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Aisin AW (14-10) crushed 6th ranked Kagoshima (11-13) in Aichi 98-57 on Sunday. Aisin AW dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Kagoshima's 30. They outrebounded Kagoshima 43-25 including a 37-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for American forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points, 20 rebounds and 7 assists (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Point guard Yuki Ishihara (180-91) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Five Aisin AW players scored in double figures. American forward Shelton Boykin (198-92, college: Angelo St.) answered with 17 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import center Antone Warren (208-93, college: Antelope Valley CC) added 13 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Kagoshima. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Aisin AW maintains fourth place with 14-10 record. Loser Kagoshima keeps the sixth position with 13 games lost. Aisin AW will face Saitama Broncos (#5) on the road in the next round. Kagoshima will play against Tokyo Cinq R. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
